There are many local organisations or groups offering low-cost (or even free!) quality goods, and it is always worth enquiring at them for small everyday items – and sometimes for larger items such as furniture, carpeting or curtaining.

The trustees are not able to offer any advice with regard to debt management – but there are very many sources of independent advice to which we can direct you, or which you can find through your local library or Citizens’ Advice service. We also provide a list here of some agencies  (local, national, government or independent) which we have found to be helpful for previous claimants.

Our financial assistance is relatively limited, and should only be regarded as short-term help. We strongly suggest that if you have a significant or long-standing issue, you should take steps to alleviate the situation, otherwise the issue is likely to recur in the future – and we may not be able to help again for some time, if at all.
